Alice, Through The Looking Glass
The purpose of the 'book cover' exercise was to design and produce, through researched methods of photographic synthesis, a dust jacket for a book, based on the theme of 'fairytales', 'legends', and/or 'comic book heroes'.
I decided to choose the Alice fairytale, Through The Looking Glass, as I felt it would allow me to explore my creativity extensively and with interest.
Whilst undertaking the project I encountered certain obstacles, such as over-complicating the scene for the front cover. Getting carried away with my imagination and attempting to fit as many illustrative story-telling elements as possible into a relatively small space, I realised that a more minimalistic and simplistic approach may have been wiser. I am pleased with the creative visualisation the final cover portrays however, and hope that it is as aesthetically appealing to you as the process of production was as enjoyable for myself.
